How to do Jamaica all inclusive the right way!

Jamaica is hands down one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the experience of traveling to. I was wrapping up work on The Fate of the Furious and was feeling like I needed a little R&R, so I whipped out my laptop and went on the hunt for the best bargain all-inclusive beach vacations. I have always wanted to go to Jamaica, growing up listening to Bob Marley and being a total hippie at heart, the island vibes were calling me and what better place to be my first international travel destination then Jamaica! I chose www.cheapcarribean.com to book my trip, and let me say for anyone considering booking an all-inclusive beach vacation – I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this site! It was the easiest booking experience I have had with any vacation! Their website allows you to explore various locations and resorts throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and offers a ton of all-inclusive and build-your-own package options. It even allows you to add additional things to your package upon check out like airport transfers, island excisions, and adventure experiences. Everything is in one place when you arrive at your destination. Your transportation is already in waiting for you, your excursions are booked, and all that’s left is to do is escape the airport and be off to vacation heaven! I ended up bringing a coworker friend of mine with me who had just wrapped up on a movie and was looking for a little adventure himself – so after a ton of research and extensive internet scouring for deals, I ended up booking us a week in a sea view superior suite at the Grand Bahia Principe Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica!

We flew into Montego Bay, Jamaica, and were immediately submerged in Jamaican culture as soon as we stepped off the plane! After getting our baggage and escaping customs, we walked out to the main lobby of the airport, where we were directed to a section of hosts assigned from Cheapcarribean.com. The host we had was accommodating in explaining everything about our package and getting us to our airport transfers quickly. We were outside and off to the resort in no time! It was about an hour’s drive from MBJ to the resort in Runaway Bay, but our driver was beneficial and gave us a ton of tourist information and history about things we saw along the way!

The resort was breathtaking! It sits right on the ocean, and the grounds were immaculately landscaped. When we pulled up, the resort staff immediately greeted and escorted us to the front desk to check-in. Not realizing until now the resort was split into two different sections – the luxury adults only and the family-friendly sides – I was informed I had booked on the family side without realizing, which meant I had accidentally booked myself on the wrong side of the kind of fun and relaxation I was looking to have that week! I was excited and looking forward to some quiet, relaxing time in this beautiful new place and did not want to spend a week listening to kids splash and scream around a pool or at the beach! I decided to take my chances, and I asked to speak with the hotel manager about an upgrade to the big kid’s side of the resort. The resorts manager Ivan was the most helpful guy, who went above and beyond for us and exceeded all of our expectations! He mentioned this luxury side of the resort was new, so booking was still being fine-tuned. As a courtesy, he not only upgraded our experience to the other side of the resort utterly free of charge, but he gave us a total room and VIP bracelet upgrade inclusive of all premium foods, alcohols, room service, and even beachside butler service options!

The view from our suite was gorgeous! We had a large balcony with great seating and ocean views of the most beautiful turquoise waters I have ever seen! We got lucky with great weather and had nothing but sunshine six out of the eight days we were there. For October, I am told that it was great. Even when it was cloudy, it was beautiful. The suite was spacious, with two queen canopy beds, and our bathroom had a huge glass shower and separate jetted bathtub. Our hotel representative (you’re assigned one when you check in who can be your go-to during your stay to assist with any of your questions, concerns and to assist with your vacations itinerary and excursion plans) was the most helpful in making sure we knew how to navigate the resort and be adequately prepared for day trips and tours. With six on-site restaurants, three pools, four bars, a kids water park, various water sports, tennis, games and a spa, I can guarantee you will find no shortage of things to keep you busy and entertained while at the resort! Even the nightlife is excellent, with live music options and dancing at the resort’s very own disco!

For this trip, I chose three island excursions to take me outside of the resort and allow me to experience what Jamaica had to offer! I decided to try an ATV and cliff jumping excursion, a day trip up to Nine Mile (the home and gravesite of Bob Marley) and climbing the famous Dunn’s River Waterfalls (this one I did by myself while my friend Ben spent the day on a Rum Tour across the island). Venturing outside of the resort on these excursions taught me so much! I got to meet so many new people from all over the world, converse with the locals, and experience the beauty that the people of Jamaica are surrounded by daily. I built a crazy sense of independence and confidence in myself on this trip too! Let me tell you there is something very liberating about traveling twelve hundred miles outside the country for the first time and climbing famous waterfalls all by yourself!

The resorts six restaurants were all fantastic and offered a wide variety of great dining options. Their Italian cuisine buffet Dolce Vita was my favorite, with delicious menu options and great wines! Breakfast in the morning was also buffet style had tons of great selections like pancakes, waffles, & omelets. Plus tons of fresh fruits, and let’s not forget the unlimited mimosas! Who doesn’t want to wake up in a tropical paradise with vodka in their orange juice on a random Tuesday in October? Haha. Of all the places to drink within the resort, I would have to say my favorite was the swim-up bar! The bar staff was always very friendly and polite, and the service was quick! They had music playing, and the drinks were flowing as I was floating. It was amazing! The staff at the Luxury Grand Bahia Principe Resort understand excellent, timely service and want you to enjoy your best vacation by providing you with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations. Regardless of who they were – maintenance staff, security guards, landscapers, bartenders, servers, cooks, entertainers, butlers, hostesses, front desk concierge, room service, housekeeping, tour agents, or resort managers – not once did we encounter anyone that didn’t go out of their way to make us feel those “Irie” vibes.

So after reading all of the above your probably thinking ‘Wow! This all seems great but it probably cost a fortune!” Well, I would have to tell you that you were wrong! For a week in all inclusive paradise, the online checkout total was only $1,142.47 for each of us. Thats right! For less then twelve hundred bucks I was able to fly myself to Jamaica, stay for a week in a 4 star luxury resort incisive of all meals, alcoholic beverages and gratuities, plus my roundtrip airport transfers, and the indulgence in three excursions – the ATV and cliff jumping experience, the Bob Marley & Nine Mile tour, and those famous waterfalls I got to climb! Simply put, if you’re someone looking for a luxury deal at a great affordable price, consider the Luxury Grand Bahia Principe Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica for your slice of time in paradise.
